SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — Visitors to the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest this weekend will see some trails reopen due to containment efforts on the Beulah Fire.

In an update on Sunday, officials announced that the Highline Trailhead and the Highline Trail have reopened for public use. Visitors will need to use caution as firefighters continue to work in the area, and law enforcement is present to enforce the closures still in place. You can find a list to active closures here.

The reopening of the trails comes as firefighters continue to get a handle on the Beulah Fire, which has been burining in the Uinta Mountains since it began on August 7. As of 10 a.m. Sunday, the fire is at 5,719 acres and is 55 percent contained.
