Brighton police arrested a man in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found Friday in an abandoned vehicle.
On Saturday, the Brighton Police Department announced the arrest of James Benavidez, 50, who faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder.
On Friday, authorities found the body of Keeley Koff, 32, in an abandoned vehicle near the 200 block of North 6th Avenue. She sustained apparent gunshot wounds, according to the police.
In his murder case, Benavidez also faces a charge of unlawful termination of pregnancy, according to police.
Upon his additional arrest, Benavidez was already in custody on multiple felony counts when Koff's body was found.
A day prior, Benavidez was allegedly involved in an attempted robbery after allegedly trying to carjack a vehicle
