AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Two people died, including a 13-year-old girl, and four others remain at the hospital after a fiery multi-vehicle crash Saturday night in Elgin.

Around 11:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the crash at the intersection of US Highway 290 North and Saratoga Farms Boulevard, a news release from the Elgin Police Department said.

Two vehicles immediately engulfed in flames, and police said multiple helicopters and ambulances took injured patients to hospitals in Austin.

Elgin police said Robbie Carter, 66, of McDade, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, identified as Yareli Padierna, 13, of Elgin, died upon arriving at the hospital. Four people are still hospitalized, EPD said.
