GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - People across the world and here in northeast Wisconsin urged action and raised awareness on Sunday to end the growing number of people who die because of a drug overdose.
It’s all part of International Overdose Awareness Day, which saw a number of events taking place.
It was a team effort on Sunday, as local advocates and community members around Northeast Wisconsin gathered at Green Bay’s Leicht Park and took some time to educate neighbors and remember the lives lost from drug overdoses.
“Addiction does not discriminate. It’s not just those in the lower class, in poverty. It’s also those up there,” says Amanda Gerondale.
They shared stories of those who lost their lives to overdoses.
