WELLSBURG — The Brooke girls’ soccer team put forth a strong showing against Wheeling Park, however, the Patriots proved too much for the Bruins to handle.
Wheeling Park netted three goals in the first half before tacking on two more in the second en route to a 5-0 victory Saturday afternoon on the grass field at Brooke.
“Wheeling Park is always good,” Brooke (1-3) head coach Jack Minger said. “That was our best game of the season even if the outcome didn’t show it.”
Five players scored goals for the Patriots.
“The girls played well,” Wheeling Park (4-0) head coach Tom Smith said. “Brooke put a lot of pressure on us. We had good balance. We had good possession. We had good passes. We played well.”
