Plymouth Live readers have reacted after a city pub warned noise complaints were putting the future of live music at risk across the city.

Lee, who runs The Kings Arms in Tamerton Foliot, said complaints are hitting pubs, staff and musicians hard. His comments follow those of fellow landlord Jack Fry, of the Plymstock Inn, who revealed he has been told not only to restrict live music indoors but also to stop customers using the pub garden after 7pm.

“Live music isn’t just noise – it’s the heartbeat of pubs like ours,” Lee said. “It brings people together, creates atmosphere, supports staff, and gives local acts a stage. The reality is, most performances are only a couple of hours in the afternoon or evening – yet even that is being threatened.”
