Alert as blood-sucking bugs to be rife this month

As summer comes to a close, this week will see millions of youngsters across the UK prepare to return to new classrooms following the school holidays in England. But parents have been urged to remain vigilant for a potential issue that could easily spread through a school like wildfire.

Superdrug has alerted parents to a dramatic increase in head lice cases . The healthcare chain has noticed sales of its head lice treatment spray soar by more than 20% in recent weeks.

This increase comes at the same time as the usual seasonal surge during the back-to-school period . However, Superdrug's Pharmacy Superintendent Niamh Mcmillan claims that returning to school should not necessarily have to result in contracting head lice.
