One the day after trimming the Jets' roster to an initial group of 53, HC Aaron Glenn said training camp would officially close after Wednesday's practice. After a luncheon on Thursday, the players will be off until Monday, Labor Day, when they will jump into their final preparations for their regular-season opener against visiting Pittsburgh on Sept. 7.

Glenn addressed multiple topics in his nearly 10-minute session with reporters on Wednesday, which began with a kind of "who's on first" interplay.

"Good morning," Glenn said at a little past 1:30 p.m. "All right, that's why you guys didn't respond. All right, afternoon."

You can't blame the coach for a slight slip of the tongue. After all, it's been non-stop for him and his staff since Glenn was introduced as the Jets' 22nd head coach,
