INDIANAPOLIS – A former Colt is coming home.
Anthony Walker Jr., a member of general manager Chris Ballard’s first draft class in 2017, has been signed to Indy’s practice squad. He went through a workout last week.
Walker, 30, was a fifth-round pick in ’17 out of Northwestern who would develop from a special teams standout as a rookie into a three-year starter who led the team in tackles from 2018-20. During that stretch, the 6-1, 235-pounder started 46 of 48 games and piled up 321 tackles.
Walker had at least 100 tackles twice, including a career-high 124 in ’19.
He signed with Cleveland as a free agent during the 2021 offseason. Walker spent last season with Miami and started eight of 14 games with 68 tackles, one sack and one interception.
