Jeremy Allen White admits stepping into Bruce Springsteen’s shoes for an upcoming biopic left him nervous about his lack of musical experience. The 34-year-old actor, known for The Bear and Shameless, plays Springsteen in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, set for release in October. On the WTF podcast, he described the role as “daunting,” noting he had no background in singing or guitar before taking it on. “I had about six months,” White said. “I had not had a lot of experience or any experience singing, playing guitar, any of it. And so that was daunting, to say the least.” The actor said much of the guitar work was manageable because the songs from Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska use simple chords, but the vocal phrasing was the real challenge.
