SPRINGBORO, Ohio - An earthquake, registering a magnitude of 2.5, shook the region near Cincinnati late Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The preliminary report from the USGS indicates the earthquake was 2.3 miles NNW of Springboro, Ohio, and 3.2 miles ENE of Franklin, Ohio. Other nearby communities that may have felt the tremor include Miamisburg and Centerville. Columbus, Ohio, located about 71.5 miles away, was less likely to have experienced significant shaking.

USGS reported the epicenter of the quake was approximately 7.5 miles deep and was felt most strongly in the immediate vicinity of its origin.

There have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries associated with the earthquake.
