The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the shooting of a Florida State University football player from Sanford.

Pritchard was excited to be going to FSU, saying this in February about how soon he might be in the starting lineup on the ‘Noles defense: “It might not be right now. It might not be next year or the year after but it's going to happen sooner or later.”

Deputies say the shooting happened at the Havana Heights apartments in the small town that is 16 miles northwest of Tallahassee. Pritchard was there dropping off a family member.
