MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane is returning to practice Monday.

Achane had been nursing a calf injury that coach Mike McDaniel said was sidelining him as a precaution in the latter portion of training camp and the preseason.

“My vision of him practicing will become reality (Monday),” McDaniel said before the Dolphins began preparation for their opener against the Indianapolis Colts with Monday drills.

Achane first missed a practice Aug. 14, the Dolphins’ second of two joint practices with the Detroit Lions, after it appeared he made it through the previous day of work in Allen Park, Michigan.

Achane is still on track to play in the opener Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
