Vigil, fundraiser to be held for father shot and killed in Shrewsbury

A fundraiser and vigil for Kevin Doherty, a father who was fatally shot in Shrewsbury last week, is scheduled for Oct. 11.

The event will take place at SAC Park in Shrewsbury and will feature live music, food trucks, raffles, and silent auctions, according to Andrea Castinetti, a realtor and nonprofit organizer.

Castinetti told MassLive that she and Todd Harrington, the owner of Anzio’s Brick Oven Pizza in Northborough, are organizing the vigil and fundraiser.

Castinetti launched a MealTrain fundraiser for the family, which has raised $43,960 of its $50,000 goal as of Sept. 1. MealTrain organizes and schedules meal deliveries for those who have experienced significant life events, such as the arrival of a new baby or a loss, according to the website.

“We have a bunch of mutual fr
