The week of Aug. 24-30 was the opening week of 2025 Iowa high school cross country, swimming and diving and volleyball for most female athletes across the Des Moines metro area.

Girls tennis started earlier in the month for teams from the metro area.

There were several outstanding individual performances by female athletes in all four sports from the metro area during the week.
