Stanton Road murder mystery ends with suspect behind bars

Washington, D.C. – A man accused of fatally shooting a teenager inside a Southeast D.C. apartment last winter has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

It was just days before Christmas when 18-year-old Terrell Oliver was found shot to death inside a residential building on Stanton Road. The call came in at 6:43 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, when Seventh District units arrived to find the teen unconscious and not breathing. He was declared dead at the scene.

More than eight months later, on Friday, Jordan Battle, 24, of Southwest D.C., was taken into custody. MPD confirmed that the U.S. Marshals Service transported him to the Homicide Branch in compliance with a D.C
