The alleged incident happened on Saturday, August 30
A 20-year-old man has been arrested after a taxi driver was reportedly spat at and subjected to racist abuse during a dispute about a booking. Nottinghamshire Police says an Uber driver was parked up on Victoria Street in Nottingham at 9.30pm on Saturday (August 30) when an intoxicated man entered his taxi and told him to drive.
The driver said he could only carry passengers who had pre-booked, with police saying this led the man to become aggressive. The passenger is then alleged to have stepped out of the Uber and challenged the driver to a fight, which then caused the driver to start recording the man on his phone.
The man then allegedly hurled racist abuse and threats through a slightly ajar window on the front passenger
