TIFFIN — An artist talk and reception for “Let All the Earth Be Jubilant,” an exhibition of paintings and drawings by Toledo artist Sheilah Grogan, is planned for Friday.

The exhibition, at Tiffin University, features the artist and educator’s work where “placid landscapes are transformed into settings for dreamlike scenes — birds, fish and animals behaving in quietly improbable ways,” according to a news release from the Diane Kidd Gallery at Tiffin University.

“My paintings are not from Nature, but rather my internal response to it,” Ms. Grogan said.

The exhibition runs through Oct. 3 in the gallery on the Tiffin campus, 195 Miami St.

Friday’s artist reception is 5 to 7 p.m. Ms. Grogan’s artist talk begins at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served at the event which is free and
