After Florida State upset Alabama football Saturday in Tallahassee, Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson offered some startling words . UA looked good on its first drive, but the offense sputtered after that, never able to catch the Seminoles after the Tide fell behind.
“I think we got a little complacent and thought we won it in the first drive,” Simpson said. “That’s not how it is. Credit to those guys. They played hard for four quarters, and we kind of took it for granted.”
After the shocking loss at Doak Campbell Stadium, Alabama’s effort was questioned by fans and analysts. Speaking during his Monday press conference, head coach Kalen DeBoer was asked whether he agreed with Simpson’s assessment.
DeBoer said he hadn’t heard the comments from his quarterback, but didn’t disagree.
