Ryanair is planning to raise bonuses for staff members who spot passengers attempting to bring oversized baggage onto aircraft.
The airline's chief executive, Michael O'Leary, declared he offered "absolutely no apology" for catching those who are "trying to cheat the system".
Speaking at a press conference in central London, Mr O'Leary told journalists that the carrier will probably increase rewards for gate personnel who prevent passengers from taking oversized luggage aboard from 1.50 euros (£1.29) to 2.50 euros (£2.16) per bag from November.
A monthly ceiling of 80 euros (£68.98) is also expected to be removed.
