Homicide detectives dismantled the police forensics scene on the weekend at a rental house on a Maple Ridge cul-de-sac where a body was found, but IHIT hasn’t yet said whether the remains were of the missing woman who lived there.
Jessica Cunningham, 43, was last seen in June and Maple Ridge RCMP issued a missing person’s report on Aug. 22, but it wasn’t until last week that police obtained a warrant to search the two-storey house and remains were found.
Integrated Homicide Investigation Team spokesman Staff Sgt. David Lee said on Friday the remains hadn’t been positively identified and IHIT and the B.C. Coroner’s Office were working to do so, but that it was “complex.”
Lee didn’t return an emailed request for an update on the holiday Monday.
