Officials have released the name of a 62-year-old West Bloomfield man who died after he was pulled from Pleasant Lake on Sunday.
Bystanders reported seeing Steven J. Sweeney floating face down and unresponsive in the water, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office search and rescue team responded to the lake to assist the West Bloomfield Township Fire Department with the reported drowning.
“Several citizens entered the lake and removed the individual prior to the arrival of emergency personnel,” officials said.
Paramedics initiated medical care for Sweeney and transported him to Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
