HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- Three people were injured after a driver barreled through Harrisburg's Kipona Festival on Monday night.
Festivities just wrapped at the three day festival when a woman driving a red minivan went around barricades and parked cars, and drove through the crowd on South Front Street after 6 p.m., said Capt. Atah Akakpo-Martin with the Harrisburg Bureau of Police.
Mayor Wanda Williams said a 6-year-old boy is in critical condition after the incident. Two adults -- a man working for the city's traffic engineering department and a woman in a wheelchair -- are also injured, the mayor said.
The driver is in custody, the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office said.
Police said officers were in the process of clearing the area out at the time because the festival was
