SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Central Bobcats opened the 2025 season on the road against a tough Abilene High team to kick off non-district play.

The Bobcats scored early after forcing a fumble that would lead to a Micah Smith rushing touchdown. The early 7-0 lead would eventually slip away after a few tough breaks, including the Eagles scoring a punt return touchdown and a 63-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Abilene's running back Brayden Henry rushed for nearly 170 yards, including an 81-yard run. Henry was also the one with the punt return touchdown. Something the Bobcats needed to face, given the tough district running backs they face later in the season.
