OMAHA, Neb. —

A big, pink coach is saving lives in Omaha, one stop at a time. It's the mobile mammography coach operated by Methodist Health System and supported by community partners.

The mobile clinic offers free or reduced-price mammograms to women who have no insurance or who are underinsured, like Claudia Salazar. The 61-year-old was recently screened outside the Heart Ministry Center.

"Thank you so much for sponsoring it. A lot of women can't afford it and do need it," said Salazar through an interpreter.

In just under eight years, Methodist has conducted more than 16,000 mammograms at community health centers and nonprofits throughout the metro. During that time, screenings have detected more than 62 positive cancers. Methodist believes it is removing barriers to health care by
