In March 2022, Alice Dartnell decided to leave the UK and move to Spain where she spent eight months learning Spanish.

The 38-year-old said it was a “bit of a knee jerk decision” but that living through Covid had taught her how difficult it was to predict the future.

Alice said she loved the food, learning the language, and the cheaper costs in Spain compared to when living in London.

It gave her the travel bug as, in her own words, she ended up thinking: “If I don’t see the world now, I never will.”

She has since spent the last three years living abroad in various countries, mainly in south east Asia.

In that time, she’s partly been a “digital nomad,” working across different countries, running her business as a time management coach.
