ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man with a criminal history dating back a decade is in trouble again. This time, he's accused of killing two dogs after an argument.

It was an argument that took a turn for the worse and led to 31-year-old Justin Leverette being taken into custody. On August 25, police said Leverette was in his car, arguing with his girlfriend's two brothers over how he treats her.

That's when police said one of the men's dogs, named Cinderella, approached Leverette's car. APD said Leverette grabbed the dog by the neck and shot it. He then took off.

While driving away, police said Leverette then ran over his own dog. Witnesses said he stopped a few houses down and shot at them eight times. No people were injured, but the two dogs died from their injuries.
