Flat Rock’s football team had big plans in place for its 2025 varsity football opener.
The Rams scheduled an away game at Gladwin — a nearly 200-mile drive north to take on the 2022 Division 5 state champions. As part of the trip, the team meant to stop off at Alma College to go through pregame walkthroughs and eat dinner.
That last part never happened, forcing the coaching staff to improvise.
"We got stuck in traffic for 40 minutes, so that kind of derailed our plans," said Flat Rock coach Buck Reaume , who is starting his 11th season with the Rams. "We ended up pulling into a rest area near Fenton instead."
