Graham Greene, the Oscar-nominated actor who co-starred alongside acting greats including Al Pacino, Kevin Costner and Mel Gibson, has died. He was 73.

Greene died Monday, Sept. 1 in a Toronto hospital after a long illness, Deadline reported .

“He was a great man of morals, ethics and character and will be eternally missed,” Greene’s agent Michael Greene (no relation) wrote in a statement to Deadline.

“You are finally free. Susan Smith is meeting you at the gates of heaven,” he added, referencing the actor’s longtime agent, who died in 2013.

Born in 1952 on a Canadian reserve, Greene began performing on stage in the 1970s and made various films in the 1980s, including “Revolution.”
