BRIDGEPORT – Fairmont State running back Leonard Farrow, Frostburg State linebacker Carter Mazalewski and Wheeling punter Carter Blake took home Mountain East Conference football player of the week awards on Monday.
The league announced the awards Monday for Farrow, the offensive player of the week after the Mount Hope native rushed 25 times for 274 yards and two TDs on Saturday in the Falcons’ 24-21 win against Seton Hill.
Mazalewski had two sacks and led Frostburg State with eight tackles plus added a 65-yard interception return for a score in the Bobcats’ 41-27 win against Shepherd as he took home defensive player of the week.
Blake punted five times on Saturday and planted three inside the 20-yard line. He also had a 60-yard punt, the longest among the MEC teams in their first week
