All inbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway reopened after an expressway shooting Tuesday morning on the West Side.

Around 6:05 a.m., a box truck was traveling on Interstate 290 near South Independence Boulevard when a passing vehicle fired shots toward it, Illinois state police said.

The driver of the truck was being treated for injuries, though it wasn’t immediately clear if they were gunshot-related, state police said.

All inbound lanes were shut down shortly after the shooting and reopened around 7:35 a.m., officials said.

No further information was immediately available.
