LOS ANGELES - Police are in a standoff with a naked SUV driver who allegedly led officers on a short police chase through West Los Angeles Tuesday morning.
What we know:
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident started around 6:45 a.m. near 1100 Ovada Place after someone reported a woman screaming and possibly naked.
A pursuit was initiated just before 7 a.m., officials said.
That pursuit ended shortly afterward, about six blocks away, when the woman stopped in the middle of the road near Montana Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard in Brentwood , but wouldn't get out of the vehicle.
The SUV was blocked by a number of patrol vehicles and the standoff was ongoing nearly an hour after it began.
At one point, the woman threw a hammer out of the window.
