INDIANAPOLIS – Will Power is looking for a new ride.

Team Penske said Power, who’s been behind the wheel at Penske for 17 years, will depart before the next IndyCar season.

Power has 45 career wins, two IndyCar championships and an Indianapolis 500 victory. All but three of his wins came with Team Penske. He captured the pole 71 times.

Power called driving for Penske the “honor of my life.”

“We have accomplished so much together, and I will always be grateful for my time with the team and my teammates who have supported me along the way,” Power said. “After much consideration, I felt like a change for me was the right move at this time.”

Team owner Roger Penske spoke with Power and decided to make a switch.
