COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - No one was injured when a car slammed into an apartment building in east Colorado Springs Tuesday morning.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Ruskin Drive and Airport Road. The car hit the corner of the building with enough force to leaving a gaping hole in the unit and a trail of debris across the lawn. The mangled vehicle was sitting in the middle of the street when first responders arrived.

Serendipitously, no one was living inside the unit that was damaged.

The cause of the crash is now under investigation.
