Siri has steered drivers into ditches when all they wanted was Starbucks. Lawyers have been disbarred for relying on auto-generated misinformation. And while smartphones excel at suggesting words to finish a text message, they sometimes send it to the wrong person. AI is behind it all — but the real question is who’s at fault — the human or the machine?

AI is far from flawless, yet humans are the ones feeding and guiding it. Responsibility, therefore, falls on the person making the real-world decisions — steering the car into the ditch, copy and pasting information from ChatGBT without verifying it, or failing to double-check that a personal message doesn’t reach the boss
