Coastal Resources Commission approves Jockey’s Ridge AEC protections—again

Moving with uncharacteristic speed, the North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) moved unanimously to forego a power point presentation on Aug. 27 to reinstate Area of Environmental Concern (AEC) protections to Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head.
The commission voted to accept the report as presented without the scheduled presentation or discussion. It is the fourth time new language for Jockey’s Ridge AEC protections has been discussed by the commission.
