TYLER, Texas — The Tyler police detective who interviewed the man accused of murdering a Tyler taqueria owner last October told the jury he seemed to exaggerate to justify the shooting and added information that was inconsistent.

The trial for Scotty Lee Goble, of Frost, who is charged with murder in the death of Heriberto “Eddie” Ramirez Jr., 38, of Tyler, entered its fifth day of testimony on Tuesday. Ramirez, co-owner of Junior’s Taqueria, was shot in the restaurant’s parking lot on Oct. 11, 2024. Goble pleaded not guilty last week, with his attorneys arguing self-defense.
