Worries have again been expressed over a Renfrewshire Council department's finances after an overspend of £290,000 was predicted for the end of this financial year. ‌

The situation facing infrastructure, land and environment (ILE) services has been flagged as a point of concern by elected members, despite improvement in 2025/26 when compared against the same period last year. ‌

A potential overspend of £171,000 has been calculated for waste services, £155,000 for social transport and £173,000 for transport and development. ‌

Meanwhile, rising costs relating to replacement parts for equipment and vehicles as well as contractor work and materials are also putting pressure on budgets.
