A man who was found on the ground with injuries in a parking lot in Middletown early Tuesday morning has died, according to police, and investigators believe he was hit by a vehicle.

Emergency crews were called to the back of a business on Main Street around 3:30 a.m. for a report of a man on the ground. The man reportedly had injuries to his head and his extremities.

He was transported to Middlesex Hospital and later died. His identity has not yet been released.

Investigators believe the man was hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle is said to be cooperating with the investigation.
