REDDING, Calif. - The Redding Aquatic Center celebrated the end of its summer season with a festive carnival on Labor Day. The event marked the final day for public swimming this year at the popular community pool.

The celebration featured attractions like face painting, games, and a balloon artist, in addition to the pool's regular features such as the water slide and kids' fountain. Built in the 1950s and renovated in 2003, the aquatic center has been a staple for Redding residents over the years.

"I think it's wonderful, and it's changed a lot since the last time I was here, many years ago," said Kevin Guthrie from Shasta Lake City.
