WILLIAMSBURG, Ind. — One person is dead and two more are in the hospital after a motorcycle crash in Wayne County.

Sheriff's deputies were called around 5 p.m. Monday to the intersection of North U.S. 35 and Sycamore Street in Williamsburg. Upon arrival, they found a crash site involving a motorcycle and a Ford F-550 pulling a flatbed trailer.

A preliminary investigation by police revealed the truck driver was headed northbound on U.S. 35, followed by a motorcycle with two people on board. Police said the motorcycle driver "attempted to pass the Ford in a no-passing zone as the truck began turning onto Sycamore."

Police said the motorcycle then collided with the truck's trailer. Nearby witnesses gave the motorcycle's passenger first aid and called 911.
