The shooting of a man by Carpentersville police officers is under investigation by the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force.

According to a news release from the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, the incident occurred about 10:45 p.m. Aug. 28 in the 100 block of Woodland Court.

“Preliminary investigative findings indicate that a male, armed with a firearm, was shot by law enforcement officers who had responded to the scene,” the release said. “The adult male is currently hospitalized and his condition is not being released.”

After the investigation is complete, all reports over to the state’s attorney’s office for an independent review, the release said.
