BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A man who bought a truck off of Facebook Marketplace in August went to police last week after certain red flags were raised that led him to believe his new truck had been previously stolen.
A man called police last Friday after suspecting that he may have unknowingly purchased a stolen vehicle a few weeks prior.
The man told police he interacted with an account on Facebook Marketplace to purchase a silver 2024 Ram pickup truck and met with the seller Aug. 9 at the parking lot of the Cranberry Police Department in Pennsylvania. He said the seller gave him the title to the truck after the man paid $27,000 for it.
The man said he believed the transaction was legitimate, as he was able to get it registered with the title he received. Police ran the VIN number found
