How are Eugene, Springfield schools handling the cell phone ban?

Classes have started in Eugene and so have classroom cell phone bans.

Sept. 2 marked the first day back in school for students in grades K-9 at Bethel School District . As C-Crew peer student leaders at Cascade Middle School welcomed the incoming sixth graders, cheering as they were sorted into their mentor groups, there was not a phone in sight.
