Western Christian took the flag football world by storm last season.

The Lancers were the only first-year program to qualify for the CIF Southern Section’s Division 1 playoffs. Western Christian also was the smallest school (enrollment of 657) to earn a spot in the section’s top playoff bracket.

A big reason for that success was the play of quarterback Maliyah Estrada and wide receiver Bailey Osborne.

As freshmen last season, Estrada and Osborne were one of the top pass-catch duos in the Southern Section. Estrada completed 68.9% of her attempts for 6,049 yards and 103 touchdowns across 28 contests. Osborne posted equally impressive numbers, hauling in a team-high 136 catches for 1,466 yards while scoring 19 touchdowns.
