NEWPORT, Ky. (WXIX) - One person is dead after a Tuesday crash involving a scooter and a vehicle.

Newport police said the wreck happened a little before 10 a.m. at the intersection of Monmouth and New Linden.

A vehicle was turning onto New Linden from Monmouth Street when police said a person on a personal scooter collided with the vehicle.

Video evidence, police said, helped corroborate the events of the crash.

The person on the scooter was taken to the University of Cincinnati Hospital, where the individual was pronounced dead, according to Newport police. The person’s identity has not been released.

Police are continuing to investigate.
