PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) -- A man riding a bicycle was hit and killed by a car Tuesday morning, and police are looking for the driver responsible for the tragedy.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, just before 10 a.m., a black Dodge Charger and a black Chrysler were speeding northbound on Belmont Avenue as they approached Avenue of the Republic. A bicyclist was traveling on Avenue of the Republic when he was hit by one of the cars. The man was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he died nearly half an hour later.
While heading to the scene, investigators saw a black Dodge Charger parked on the 3200 block of Sedgley Drive. According to police, several men were inspecting the front end of the car. Officers stopped to investigate and seized the car for further investig
