STORRS, CT. (WFSB) - The UConn Huskies started the 2025 football season off strong with a dominant 59-13 win over Central Connecticut State.

They were explosive on offense, putting up more than 600 yards total, a school record. Quarterback Joe Fagnano also had an amazing performance with 266 yards and three touchdowns through the air as well as a score on the ground.

They now move on to a tough road test against Syracuse, a big time ACC opponent.

“We can’t last week prepare at one level and this week prepare at another. and then the next week. That’s an inconsistency. so, our focus is being the best we can be on that day, and to me that’s the best way to do it, especially when you’re dealing with young men, young adults, teaching them to stay consistent in their approach to everything,
