A 48-year-old man has been charged in the 2024 shooting death of a 13-year-old boy in Montgomery.

Lakito Kemp, of Pennsylvania, is charged with capital murder in the killing of Shaquille Bradford, Montgomery police announced Tuesday.

Kemp was taken into custody Sunday. He remains held without bond in the Montgomery County Detention Center.

Authorities said an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers 215-Stop led to the areas.

Shaquille’s family members had been searching for the young teen, saying he was last seen on the city’s west side.

Police and fire medics were dispatched shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, to a report of a person shot.

Shaquille was found dead in the 100 block of West Fred D. Gray Avenue.
