Dustin May to pitch from Bullpen on short Rest as Red Sox adjust rotation

Dustin May will pitch out of the bullpen for the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday on short rest.

Manager Alex Cora did not confirm Tommy Cassell’s report about pitcher Kyle Harrison being called up for Wednesday’s game. It appears the Red Sox will have a bullpen game in the series finale against the Cleveland Guardians, with May expected to be part of the mix while Harrison’s status remains unconfirmed.

«We haven’t made a decision yet,» said the Red Sox manager on Tuesday afternoon. «Actually, we moved May to the bullpen this week. He will start again next week. We’re in the day-to-day business. Tomorrow we will have a bullpen day and he will be part of it. If he doesn’t pitch out of the bullpen this week, it will be 10 days between starts.»

Dustin May will be on three days’ rest for his nex
